I know (from many personal experiences) that sometimes it can be hard to give up (a project or someone) on those things that matter to us and that we love and care about. A wise woman I once knew told me “Nothing Is Ever Easy” and she was right, it’s not easy giving up or admitting defeat, I have found this to be true in many aspects of my life and also when it comes to quitting a puzzle.

The last few puzzles I have worked on were more challenging than I originally thought they would be and part of the way through working on the puzzle, I decided I had enough and told myself “It’s okay to quit and move on to another puzzle, there’s no harm done in giving up on something that wasn’t bring you joy and satisfaction”. I believe that puzzles, like many hobbies and interests are meant to bring us joy, happiness and be calming, not try and turn us away from enjoying them, just because some puzzles are difficult.

If you are curious which puzzles I did recently, but gave up on part of the way through working on them, here’s a list (Picture included):

  1. Catndyland 1,000 Piece Puzzle- Antelope Puzzles
  2. Mountainside Park 1,000 Piece Puzzle- Hallmark
  3. Crowd Pleasers- The Antique Show 1,000 Piece Puzzle- Ceaco

This puzzle, while very bright and colorful, was a very busy image and had lots of tiny details which made it hard to find the pieces and put the puzzle together or even want to do this puzzle.
This puzzle was also very difficult, because while it had bigger pieces, it still had tiny details that are cartoon-style artwork. Although, it had lots of colors to work with and different patterns in the puzzle image, it was still a challenge to do this puzzle and want to continue working on it.

This puzzle was way too difficult to even finish putting the border together, so I gave up on it at the very beginning, due to the busy image and smaller piece size, it just wasn’t worth my time trying to struggle through finishing it.
