I can officially report that I have found my favorite puzzle and the best part is that it was at a free puzzle swap library. My favorite way to receive more puzzles (on top of going to thrift shops) is through free puzzle swaps or exchanges in my community. I am fortunate that the community I live in has several free puzzle events throughout the year, where you can meet other fellow dissectologists (puzzle lovers), exchange ideas and strategies on solving difficult puzzles and swap puzzles, all for free.
I love all the puzzles in my growing collection, but there’s just something so majestic about the puzzle I found at the recent puzzle swap. The puzzle I am talking about is a Galison 500 Piece “Beside The Sea” Puzzle (Picture posted below) and it is (in my opinion) the perfect puzzle image, with its bright colors and small piece count. I love doing Galison Puzzles, because they have great quality in their puzzle pieces and they always have wonderfully bright images that are great for all ages to do.
I tend to get excited when I find a puzzle that’s been on my bucket list for awhile and am one of those people that “jumps for joy” over getting a puzzle for a good deal/bargain. It may seem like puzzling is an expensive hobby, but it doesn’t have to be if you stick to thrift stores, puzzle swaps/exchanges, and sites like eBay, where you can almost always find a good deal on puzzles.
Let me know in the comments what some of your favorite puzzles are that have been on your bucket list for awhile. Also, let me know what you think of participating in puzzle swaps/exchanges, what do you like or not like about them.
